Jessica & Joe | York Wedding Cinematographer | Heritage Hills Resort
On September 6th, Joe and Jessica were married at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church in York, PA, followed by a reception celebration at the Heritage Hills Resort.
But let’s back up a few steps. When I first spoke to Jessica, I asked her how she would describe her wedding in just a few words. She said “big family”, and went on to explain that Joe was one of 12 siblings, many of which also have children. One of my best friends growing up was one of 12, so I had an idea what to expect and knew this was going to be a ton of fun!
A few weeks later we received an invitation and a beautiful little ‘save the date’ magnet, which still hangs on our fridge to this day. From that moment we knew we were an integral part of this wonderful “big family” celebration, and we were excited. Jessica and Joe reside in South Carolina, so all of our communication up until this point had been on the phone and via email. Jessica was in town a few weeks before the wedding and we jumped on the opportunity to meet with her and her mother for a storyboarding session, where we introduced them to gourmet pastry Pop-Tarts and coffee from on of our favorite spots downtown. We had a wonderful time; it’s always great to finally put a face to a voice and to deepen the relationship by meeting a family member as well.
Everything about Joe and Jessica’s day was perfect and beautiful. The ladies had a relaxing start to the day at Shortino’s Salon and Spa, then headed back to Heritage Hills where Joe and the guys would also get ready. We had a great time in the beautiful bridal suite, where the talented ladies from Your Spa Girls did makeup for the entire bridal party in-suite. There was something about the light that day. It was somewhat overcast with a chance of rain (of which we got only a sprinkle), and the windows in the bridal suite were enormous. I’m sure it didn’t hurt that the couple was stunning as well :-) We just kept looking at the LCDs on our cameras in awe of what we were seeing, feeling inspired and creative all day long. The Bride and Groom also exchanged beautifully heartfelt letters which they chose to integrate into the film as well. We LOVE that!
In the reception hall, Shumaker really transformed the space into something unique and beautiful. Jessica had lots of beach-themed elements throughout, including the place cards, which were sand dollars in a cute little sandbox. There was no lack of dancing during the reception, where the many nieces and nephews gave quite the showdown! Klock Entertainment was exceptional as always, even featuring the bride and groom at the turntables for a set! SweeTreats Cake Boutique provided the cake and other delicious goodies which were plentiful and amazing.
Joe and Jessica’s is certainly one celebration we will remember fondly forever. Thank you both and your families for allowing us to tell your story, it truly was a wonderful celebration of love and commitment. All the best to you!
Oh my Jonathan and Crystal…We've watched three times in a row with tears streaming down my face. Its absolutely wonderful!
